Στην εν λόγω έκδοση υπάρχει ο V8 6.2 λίτρων της GM με μέγιστυ ισχύ 426 ίππων και 569 Nm ροπής.
Η έκδοση για το 2010 δοκιμάστηκε στο Nurburgring και σύμφωνα με την GM ολοκλήρωσε τον γύρο σε 8 λεπτά και 20 δεύτερα.
Επίσης θα υπάρχει και η έκδοση RS η οποία θα διαφοροποιείται από την SS μόνο σε οπτικές αλλάγές, π.χ. HID λαμπτήρες, σπόιλερ, 20'' ζάντες κτλ.
Αξίζει να αναφέρουμε ότι η Camaro SS είναι πιο φθηνή από την Challenger SRT8 κατά περίπου 9.000 $. Βέβαια και τα 2 μοντέλα είναι φθηνότερα από την Shelby GT500.
